Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette (Published on June 26, 2022)

The Arkansas Press Association has recognized Dr. RL Booker for his January 2021 article in the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette titled, Stop Denying Reality: Acknowledging ‘white supremacy’ mindsets a necessity. His article placed 3rd in the General Interest Column category during the 2022 Better Newspaper Contest.

This award recognizes newspaper editors, writers, photographers and designers for work produced in 2021. The contest was judged by the Wisconsin Press Association.

Statement from Dr. RL Booker:

Writing about the realities of this country is a passion and commitment of mine. I continually challenge myself to learn about the full history of this country and the real-world experiences of those who are often overlooked. I also write to help educate others. I am honored to be recognized by the Arkansas Press Association. In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., “I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant.”
